Robin van Persie says that he is eagerly anticipating winning the Premier League with Manchester United this season.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has said that he is looking forward to winning his first Premier League title.

The 29-year-old played for Arsenal from 2004 until 2012 but did not win the league with the Gunners.

"That I'll probably win my first championship is very nice," BBC Sport quotes the Dutchman as saying.

"I'm really thrilled about it. Not winning titles has given me quite some pain and it has made me greyer.

"I watched United drop the lead last season but it's getting awfully close now and I'm really happy with that."

United are currently 15 points clear of second-placed Manchester City at the top of the league table.
