Wayne Rooney has returned to Manchester United training early following a thigh injury suffered against Wigan Athletic three weeks ago, according to reports.
Despite reports suggesting that Rooney could be sidelined for two months, The Sun suggests that the striker has been back regaining his fitness for the past week.
The 26-year-old could potentially be named as a substitute for Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Galatasaray at Old Trafford.
However, a more realistic target for Rooney could be Sunday's trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.
Rooney is still wearing strapping on his thigh to avoid infection.
