Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino talks up the significance of his side's 3-0 win away to Manchester United, but is coy on a potential title challenge.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has talked up the significance of his side's 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Spurs have traditionally struggled away to United and had failed to even score a goal at Old Trafford in their past four visits, but a Harry Kane header and two goals from Lucas Moura saw them pile more misery on their hosts during a memorable display.

The manner of the victory saw many tipping Tottenham as potential title contenders this season, but Pochettino has insisted that it is still too early to tell whether they will be in the running.

"It is a massive, massive victory. It can provide us very good confidence and trust with how we are working. We know the end of the season is too far away, we need to keep pushing, trying to be consistent. Let's keep calm and working hard is the most important thing," he told Sky Sports News.

"They were better than us in the first half. Second half we had the possibility to score and we dominated the game. I am so happy because 3-0 in the second half it is like the coaching staff have an effect, but the credit goes to the players. We have our philosophy and we try to respect that, but the credit goes to the players because they believe.

"We'll see what happens with the title challenge. The most important thing is to keep calm. If at the end of the season with 10 games to go and we are in a good position then we have already shown we can fight.

"We have good players and good staff, unbelievable fans. We are going to have one of the better stadiums. The club is working so hard and trying to deliver that as soon as possible."

Tottenham's victory is their biggest away to United since a 4-1 triumph in October 1972.
