Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba hints at change to penalty style

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba suggests that he will look to change his distinctive penalty style after seeing a spot kick saved against Everton.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has suggested that he will look to change his distinctive penalty style after missing from the spot against Everton this afternoon.

Pogba's slow and methodical run-up backfired as he took 27 steps before seeing his effort saved by Jordan Pickford, only for the ball to bounce back to him as he swept home the rebound at Old Trafford.

United went on to win the game 2-1, but Pogba admitted that he had been "lucky" and suggested that he will attempt a new technique in the future.

"It's true I was lucky, but the most important thing is the ball went in and I scored the goal. It was good for us, good for me, after we carried on we had other chances, most important was the win today," Pogba told reporters.

"I always try to destabilise the keeper, I always shoot like this, and that's how I know how to take penalties. But maybe I practice to change it because the goalkeepers are starting to know my steps now. The most important thing is when the ball goes in."

Pogba has now missed two of his five penalties for United so far this season.
