Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has likened new Red Devils signing Daley Blind to veteran midfielder Darren Fletcher.
The Dutch international was signed by Louis van Gaal from Ajax in the last transfer window after the two worked together in the Netherlands setup.
Ferguson is quoted as saying by The Express: "Daley Blind is one of those common-sense footballers that make up a team. He's probably a version of Darren Fletcher of a few years ago, that type of player.
"He's a good professional with common sense to his game. He keeps it simple and protects the defenders and the attacking midfield players in his role."
Other major signings by Manchester United this summer include Radamel Falcao, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera.
