Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has insisted that Daley Blind will be a "great addition" to his side following his move from Ajax.
The 24-year-old completed his switch to Old Trafford earlier this evening, signing a four-year deal with the Red Devils for a fee of £14m.
Blind has previously worked with Van Gaal at international level with the Netherlands, and the United boss is confident that he will fit nicely into his "philosophy".
"I am delighted Daley has signed for the club. He is a very intelligent and versatile footballer that can play in many positions," Van Gaal told the club's official website.
"Daley is a great reader of the game, he has played under my philosophy over a number of years and he will be a great addition to the team."
United are also understood to be on the verge of signing Radamel Falcao from Monaco on a season-long loan deal worth £6m.
