Manchester United's Michael Carrick: 'We need to improve'

Michael Carrick says that there is still plenty to improve on for Manchester United.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick believes that he and his teammates still have a long way to go until they are back to their best.

David Moyes's side clinched all three points in their Champions League group by defeating Real Sociedad 1-0 at Old Trafford last night, but it has been a different story in the Premier League.

The North-West outfit have grabbed three victories from eight fixtures in the top flight, leaving them eighth in the league table on 11 points.

"I think we can improve on a lot of things, there's still a way to go until we're really at our best, but we haven't been playing that badly," Carrick told MUTV.

"Things haven't been going so well for us in terms of results, we'd love to score more goals, but the good thing is that we are creating that chances. We're making the opportunities for ourselves, and I'm sure they will start flying in soon."

United will switch their focus back to domestic commitments when they take on Stoke City this weekend.
