Rio Ferdinand unlikely to extend Manchester United stay?

Rio Ferdinand is reportedly unlikely to extend his stay at Manchester United when he comes to the end of his contract next year.

Rio Ferdinand could reportedly call time on his Manchester United career at the end of the season.

The defender, who has faced criticism for a number of performances in the early stages of the campaign, will come to the end of his current contract next summer.

The 34-year-old is unlikely to sign an extension under manager David Moyes, with a possible move to the MLS an option, according to Goal.com.

Despite rumours of a departure for Ferdinand, reports have claimed that his teammate Michael Carrick will be offered a two-year extension.
