A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.
Tuesday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United 'change Mason Greenwood contract plans'
Manchester United have reportedly paused plans to offer Mason Greenwood a new contract following questions over the youngster's activities off the pitch.
Greenwood has proven his capabilities on the field with 19 goals to his name in a United shirt, but the striker has come under fire after being sent home from the England camp in Iceland after breaching COVID-19 protocols with Phil Foden.
Foden has since regained the trust of manager Gareth Southgate and has been included in the England squad for November's fixtures, but Greenwood was left out - reportedly amid fresh concerns over his discipline.
The Athletic claim that United chiefs are concerned that Greenwood is not taking the best care of his health off the pitch - with fears arising that the teenager is sleep-deprived - and the Red Devils are reluctant to offer him a new contract at this moment in time.
The report also suggests that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer phoned Southgate informing the England manager that he did not want Greenwood to be selected for this round of international matches, and United believe that the 19-year-old may not be following the rules of limiting contact outside of his social bubble.
Greenwood did not play a part in United's 3-1 win over Everton, and the Englishman is yet to get off the mark in the current Premier League campaign.
Manchester United 'forced to shelve plans to sign Ousmane Dembele'
Manchester United could reportedly be forced to put their pursuit of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele on hold due to Ansu Fati's injury.
The Red Devils were tipped to move for Dembele over the summer, with the Frenchman seen as an ideal alternative to Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho, but a deal did not materialise and Dembele remained in Catalonia.
However, the winger's troubles at Camp Nou have continued this season and Dembele has struggled for a regular spot in the starting lineup under Ronald Koeman, but the 23-year-old's situation may be about to change in the wake of Fati's serious injury.
The teenage protege is understood to be facing a four-month spell on the sidelines with a meniscus tear, and according to Sport, Dembele will be a regular starter for Barcelona until Fati recovers.
As a result, any chances of United striking a deal for Dembele during the January transfer window are incredibly slim, although the report claims that the Red Devils are likely to reignite their interest next summer.
Dembele is under contract at Camp Nou until 2022, and with the former Dortmund man seemingly in no rush to pen fresh terms, the Catalan giants could be open to a summer sale in order to avoid losing him for nothing.
