Bastian Schweinsteiger's injury not expected to be long-term issue

Germany head coach Joachim Low says that he does not expect Bastian Schweinsteiger's injury to be a long-term problem.

A recent injury suffered by Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is not expected to be a serious problem, according to Germany head coach Joachim Low.

The 31-year-old was ruled out of the world champions' 1-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland last night.

Schweinsteiger, who joined United from Bayern Munich in the summer, is touch and go for Germany's next Euro 2016 qualifier against Georgia on Sunday, but Low does not expect the midfielder to be sidelined for a significant period of time.

"For Bastian it looks like he may not be able to make it in time for Sunday," Low told reporters. "Two to three days, that's how long he needs to rest so it will be very, very tight."

United will take on Everton at Goodison Park on October 17.
