Raphael Varane has been forced off the field through injury in Manchester United's Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old overstretched in an attempt to win the ball from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, appearing to damage either his knee or ankle during the incident.
Varane was in tears as he left the field, sparking fears that the central defender could be set for an extended period on the sidelines.
As well as missing some key matches for Man United, the injury also puts his World Cup hopes for France in doubt.
Varane has been a vital player for the 20-time English champions during the 2022-23 campaign, forming an impressive partnership with Lisandro Martinez in the middle of the defence.
However, the Frenchman recently missed a Europa League clash against Omonia due to an ankle injury that he picked up against Manchester City earlier this month.
