Team News: No Vincent Kompany for Manchester City

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany is only fit enough for a place on the substitutes' bench for their meeting with Bournemouth.

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany is only fit enough for a place on the substitutes' bench for today's meeting with Bournemouth.

The centre-back was used in Belgium's midweek win over Israel to the dismay of Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini, but misses out for the Citizens at the Etihad.

Elsewhere, the Chilean has been forced to shuffle his pack due to injuries sustained by Sergio Aguero and David Silva over the international break, meaning places in the starting lineup for Wilfried Bony and Jesus Navas.

Bournemouth have made two changes from last time out, meanwhile, with Adam Smith and Euan O'Kane coming in for Marc Pugh and Joshua King.

There is no room for injured midfielder Harry Arter, however, who fails to make the Cherries' matchday squad altogether.

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Mangala, Sagna, Fernandinho, Toure, Navas, De Bruyne, Sterling, Bony
Subs: Caballero, Demichelis, Kompany, Fernando, Nasri, Roberts, Iheanacho

Bournemouth: Boruc, Francis, Cook, Distin, Daniels, Smith, Gosling, O'Kane, Surman, Ritchie, Murray
Subs: Federici, Cargill, Bennett, MacDonald, Pugh, King, Kermorgant
