Martin O'Neill: Man City stars should stop moaning

Martin O'Neill says that highly-paid Manchester City stars should stop moaning about their positions at the club.

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill has said that highly-paid Manchester City stars should stop moaning about their positions at the club.

Some City stars are rumoured to be discontent with warming the bench, but O'Neil says that it's a chance players take when they join the Manchester club.

"City are a top-quality side with strength in depth which is very important these days," O'Neill said. "If you go to a club like that, you're obviously going to get paid an awful lot of money and I think the situation would be plain to see.

"You've either got to get in the team to play or you'll be rotated. Otherwise, you'll be a squad player or just disappear. You take that chance when you go and play for Manchester City.

"They have real quality throughout and more besides sitting around. You take that chance - and you shouldn't moan when you're not in the team."

Sunderland host Premier League leaders Manchester City tomorrow.
