Roberto Mancini inists that there is no way back for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Roberto Mancini believes that Carlos Tevez has reached the end of his career at Manchester City after refraining from flying back to England.

The Argentina international has been absent from the North West since jetting off to South America without the club's permission last week.

While the Italian boss was open to the 27-year-old returning to the side as long as an apology was offered, Mancini is now resigned to letting the frontman go.

When asked if there was any way back for Tevez, the 46-year-old said: "No I don't think so. I don't know [if he'll return]. I know that he's in Argentina but I don't know other things.

"We can't continue to talk about Carlos, we have an important game. I think our thoughts should be on the squad."

Mancini's men take on fellow unbeaten Premier League side Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.
