Vincent Kompany picked up a hamstring complaint during Manchester City's pre-season friendly against Dynamo Dresden yesterday evening.
While reports have claimed that the skipper is not seriously injured, manager Roberto Mancini was concerned enough to replace the Belgian defender after 64 minutes of the match in Austria.
Kompany is now expected to be assessed by City's medical team, who will determine when he can resume training with the rest of the squad.
The 26-year-old joined the Premier League champions in 2008 from German side Hamburg.
