The full-time whistle goes at Goodison Park and Everton are in dreamland. A late strike from new signing Lookman caps a dream cameo and gives the Toffees a 4-0 victory over Manchester City. The result is probably harsh on Guardiola's side but they now look huge outsiders for the Premier League. They are 10 points and a considerable amount of goals behind leaders Chelsea.

BOOKINGS! The referee books both Otamendi and Lukaku after a needless exchange between the two. Lukaku reacted to a late challenge but the defender threw himself to the floor. Good officiating.

There will be four minutes of added-on time.

SUBSTITUTION! Koeman takes the chance to give a first appearance to Ademola Lookman, who recently signed from Charlton Athletic. He has replaced Barkley, who has been sensational in this second half.

CHANCE! Every time that Everton come forward, they look like scoring a goal. City are all over the place! Barkley is the instigator once again as he sets up Lukaku but his shot across goal misses the far post.

Moments after the goal, Aguero got a shot on goal but Robles was equal to it. The stand-in stopper has had a good game this afternoon.

What a moment for Tom Davies! The youngster has been the best player on the pitch and he starts and finishes a break-away from Everton. Barkley played in the midfielder who clipped the ball over Robles from 12 yards and although Lukaku came close to getting the final touch, I don't think he made contact. Fairytale stuff!

SHOT! City win a free kick around 30 yards from goal and this is Toure territory. However, the direction of his shot is too predictable.

BOOKING! Silva goes into the book for a frustrated challenge on Davies, who has previously dispossessed him of the ball.

SUBSTITUTION! Everton make their second change as Barry is replaced by James McCarthy. It's simply a case of throwing on some fresh legs.

SHOT! Aguero hasn't had much of an impact in this match so he takes it upon himself to get a shot on goal from distance. It's a solid effort which forces a save out of Robles but it would have taken something special to beat the goalkeeper from there.

A corner from De Bruyne is met by the head of Otamendi but it's miscued and straight into the stands. City are getting a bit desperate now. You can't not be impressed with the work-rate of Everton in this match.

An attempted clearance from Stones is badly sliced into the air. You can imagine the reaction from the Everton fans. Their team are putting their opponents under plenty of pressure when they have the ball in their own half. It is forcing mistakes.

SUBSTITUTION! It's time for the debut of Morgan Schneiderlin, who comes on for Kevin Mirallas. Koeman deciding to tighten things up in midfield.

SUBSTITUTION! Guardiola decides to make his first change of the contest with Zabaleta being withdrawn for Kelechi Iheanacho.

As it stands, City aren't doing enough with the ball to suggest that they are going to get back into this. They are winning set pieces in and around the box and pushing Everton back but they aren't creating any chances.

BOOKING! Holgate has been running a bit of a tightrope since that foul on Aguero in the first half and he finally goes into the book for a late challenge on Sterling. There wasn't any complaints.

A cross from Silva finds Stones at the back post but his header lacks the power to beat Robles or find Toure in the middle. Decent chance after he managed to meet the ball.

Everton have only had two shots in this match and they have scored from both of them. Talk about being clinical. I suspect they may have a lot of defending to do in the remainder of this match.

Everton double their lead! Lukaku's attempted through-ball is cut out but it falls to Barkley, who slides a pass through to Mirallas who fires into the far corner from 15 yards. Guardiola looks completely fed up. He would have demanded a fast start to this half.

City get us back underway. There have been no changes for either side.

The half-time whistle goes at Goodison Park and Everton goes into the break with the advantage after that goal from Lukaku. City will count themselves unfortunate to be behind because they should have had a penalty but so far, Everton have been fantastic at the back.

CHANCE! Davies is having a real influence on this game and he has just stopped a certain City equaliser. Clichy's cross was headed towards the corner by Sagna but the youngster got back to head off the line.

There will be two minutes of added-on time. It might turn out to be a few more because Sterling has just pushed Williams into Robles, with the defender's shoulder connecting with the goalkeeper's jaw. He's back up.

Aguero and Funes Mori are getting embroiled in a personal battle. Funes Mori concedes a cheap foul on the halfway line and Aguero tries to get the defender booked. The referee isn't buying it but the Everton player is probably on his last chance.

SHOT! In the aftermath to that incident, Sterling ends up with the ball around 25 yards out and he comes within a whisker of finding the top corner. It's some effort, and one what probably deserves a goal.

This would have been controversial. Aguero comes within inches of sliding the ball into the net from close range but only after he had pulled back Funes Mori. The referee has completely missed it.

Scoring a goal certainly changes something! Everton take the lead against the run of play through a calm finish from Lukaku from around 15 yards out. After Davies won possession in the middle of the pitch, he played in Mirallas who cut the back back to his teammate to slot into the bottom corner. That's six in eight games for Lukaku.

Everton have started to set up like an away team and it's only inviting pressure from City. It seems a case of when, not if, the visitors open the scoring. Koeman needs to change something.

De Bruyne has the ball on a string at the moment. Another outstanding pass finds Silva all on his own in the penalty area but the Spaniard takes too much time on the ball and a combination of Robles and the defence ensure that the opportunity goes begging.

CHANCE! An exceptional pass from De Bruyne finds Sterling inside the penalty area but the winger's first-time volley is straight at Robles. Difficult chance but one he should be doing better with. City in the ascendancy now.

City come within inches of winning a penalty when Holgate brings down Aguero but it's half a yard outside of the box. Very touch and go, that. The free kick is a waste, though, as Silva attempts a low pass to Aguero and it's easily cleared.

The match has started to calm down every so slightly. It's still back and forth but as we await the first real shot on goal, both teams are placing more focus on retaining possession. Everton aren't wasting any time in closing down Bravo when he gets the ball. It's becoming a common theme.

We are just over a quarter-of-an-hour through this match and it's turning into an excellent game. City will be ruing that penalty being turned down but they aren't letting it bother them. They are threatening every time De Bruyne gets the ball down the left.

CHANCE! De Bruyne beats the offside trap and crosses for Sterling, who attempts to take the ball around Robles and is then denied by Baines. The chance goes begging but Sterling is unlucky not to get a penalty. The winger was brought down by the goalkeeper but his appeals were waved away.

Everton have the ball in the net, and it's a brilliantly worked goal, too. However, Coleman was a yard offside when crossing for Mirallas and the effort is correctly chalked off.

Some clever play from Barry draws a foul out of De Bruyne and Everton have a free kick around 45 yards from goal. However, the ball into the middle is poor and City are able to clear. Decent start from both sides but we are still awaiting the first opportunity.

It's worth us noting that Zabaleta is playing in centre midfield this afternoon. The suspension of Fernandinho and injury to Gundogan has left City short in the middle of the park.

It's been a fast start to the match in terms of possession and tackles flying in but as of yet, no chances to speak of. There are quite a few boos for Stones, which is slightly harsh in my opinion but not a surprise.

The two teams have made their way out at Goodison Park. It's a very dull day on Merseyside but this match will almost certainly brighten things up.

PREDICTION! Everton have only lost once in 10 league matches in front of their own fans this season but we are backing City to make that two setbacks. There's every expectation that the game will be played at a ferocious pace and one which will suit the Toffees, but City have that extra bit of class in their starting lineup and we think that they will run out 2-1 winners.

We are all aware of Stones playing against his former side, but the same can be said of Gareth Barry, who continues to look a top quality Premier League player just five weeks short of his 36th birthday. Barry made 175 appearances during a four-year spell at City and was a regular in the side when they won the Premier League title in 2012. Competition for his place has increased with the signing of Schneiderlin but he will have the confidence in his own ability to show that he deserves to remain in the team.

I mentioned earlier that Everton had matched City over their most recent meetings but City's record at Goodison Park tells a different story. This is a fixture where the away team has enjoyed the most success.

Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero are regarded as two of the best strikers in the Premier League, but how does their recent form match up?

Toffees forward Lukaku went through a period earlier this season when he only netted once from six outings, but he has scored five times from his last seven games, including three from his last four. He will certainly be relishing a crack at this Manchester City defence.

As for Aguero, he looked well short of match fitness when he returned from his four-game suspension against Liverpool but he made the difference against Burnley and was one of City's star players against West Ham last week. Scoring in successive games will have done him the world of good ahead of an important stage of the season and while City know they have to tighten up at the back, they at least have the comfort of knowing they have their talisman back in their side.

You'd have thought that John Stones may have been the favourite to take a wrong turn behind the scenes at Goodison Park but it turns out that some of his teammates were closer to entering the Everton dressing room.

The most recent match between the clubs took place at the Etihad Stadium in October and it wasn't short of incident. The game finished 1-1, with Nolito cancelling out Romelu Lukaku's opener, but it was a fixture which included two missed penalties from City. Click here to read back on that game.

HEAD TO HEAD! Today's match represents the 182nd time in which these two teams have met in a competitive fixture and there's very little in their previous contests. Everton have won 67 times compared to 68 victories for City. There's also very little in their most recent clashes with three draws occurring in six matches.

As for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola keeps it simple by naming the same outfield players which started the game against West Ham in the FA Cup. The only alteration sees Claudio Bravo return in goal for Willy Caballero. This means that John Stones starts on his return to Goodison Park and Kevin De Bruyne has been declared fit after missing training during the middle of the week through illness.

Let's start with Everton, with the major news coming out of their dressing room regarding Morgan Schneiderlin being left on the substitutes' bench. He has only played 11 minutes all season but there was a feeling that he would get the nod in midfield for such a big match. The only change made by Ronald Koeman sees Kevin Mirallas replace Enner Valencia. Fellow new signing Ademola Lookman is selected on the bench.

Anyway, without further ado, let's crack on with the team news...

We are probably getting a little far ahead of ourselves but when Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal win so convincingly on the day before, City have to go out there and make a statement. They thrashed West Ham United in the FA Cup nine days ago but they haven't been great in the Premier League of late and they cannot afford more dropped points. Defeat this afternoon would also bring Manchester United back into play.

When a game featuring Everton and Manchester City is considered to be the chief support on a Sunday afternoon, you know that you've got two belters in the Premier League. The showdown between Manchester United and Liverpool will come later on but ahead of that tussle, we have City attempting to keep pace with many of their title rivals with a visit to the blue half of Merseyside to play the Toffees. Everton have their own ambitions this season but today is all about whether City can close the gap on Chelsea to seven points. Anything less and you have to question whether they still hold any hope in the title race.
