Manchester City's penalty-shootout hero Willy Caballero has described their League Cup success as "amazing" and "emotional".
The 34-year-old kept his place as City's Cup keeper ahead of Joe Hart for today's final at Wembley and turned out to be the match-winner as he made three penalty saves to help City win the shootout 3-1 following a 1-1 scoreline after extra time.
"It's amazing to win this cup," Caballero told Sky Sports News after the match. "It was a hard, hard week for me."
It is the first time in 13 years since Caballero was at Boca Juniors in his homeland that he has won a trophy at club level.
"For sure it's emotional," the stopper added. "For me, for my family."
When asked what helped him save three penalties in a row after Emre Can's panenka which began the shootout, Caballero replied: "Just intuition, and God."
City have now won four of the five League Cup finals that they have appeared in.
