New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi to be his first signing at the club, according to a report.
Klopp, who has allegedly been an admirer of the 21-year-old for some time, according to Calciomercato.
The attacking midfielder, who has yet to find the net in this season's Serie A, was co-owned by Juventus and Sassuolo until this summer, when Sassuolo bought out Berardi for £7.4m.
The Old Lady have retained the option to re-purchase the player for £18.5m next summer, yet Liverpool will reportedly not be put off by this clause.
Newly-appointed boss Klopp stated this week that he will not spend transfer funds 'for the sake of it'.
