Manchester City could reportedly receive in excess of £8m in profit if Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane leaves the club amid interest from Liverpool.
Sane spent four successful years at the Etihad Stadium between 2016 and 2020, contributing with 39 goals and 46 assists in 135 games as well as winning eight trophies, including two Premier League titles.
The Germany international decided to return to his homeland and link up with perennial Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich where he has established himself as a key player over the last three years.
Sane has lifted seven trophies and has recorded 45 goals and 37 assists in 144 appearances for Bayern across all competitions, including 14 goals and 10 assists in 44 matches last season.
The 27-year-old has since made a bright start to the new campaign, chipping in with six Bundesliga goals in seven games as well as a strike in a Champions League group-stage win over Manchester United.

Sane is under contract at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2025, but the winger has recently been the subject of interest from Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
A recent report claims that the Reds have identified Sane as their primary target to replace Mohamed Salah, who has been heavily linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.
Liverpool would allegedly be prepared to break their club transfer record of £80m spent on striker Darwin Nunez two summers ago in order to lure to German to Anfield.
Should Liverpool be successful in their pursuit of Sane, the Manchester Evening News reports that Man City could secure a transfer windfall as they inserted a 10% sell-on clause in the deal that saw the winger join Bayern.

The report states that there have been rumours of Liverpool being willing to spend up to £100m on Sane, meaning that Man City could receive around £10m from the proposed deal, while a club-record purchase of at least £80m from the Reds would be enough to see the Citizens recoup at least £8m.
It remains to be seen whether Sane would be interested in a return to the Premier League, while Bayern are believed to be ready to open contract talks with the winger in a bid to keep him at the club.
Liverpool are not the only club that have been credited with an interest in Sane, as both Barcelona and Real Madrid are believed to be keeping a close eye on the German's contract situation at Bayern.
Sane is currently away on international duty with Germany and helped them come from behind to win 3-1 in a friendly against USA in Julian Nagelsmann's first game in charge on Saturday.
