Liverpool's attempts to sign Dejan Lovren may be thwarted by work permit issues.
The Reds are hoping to sign the 21-year-old Lyon defender for £3 million but fear they will fail to get permission for him to work in the UK, according to the Daily Mail.
Lovren, a Croatian international, joined Lyon in January 2010 on a four-and-a-half year deal for £8 million. He has since made 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side and netted one goal.
Liverpool turned their attentions to Lovren after missing out on Phil Jones to Man Utd.
