Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has moved to reassure goalkeeper Simon Mignolet that he does have a future at Anfield.
Recent speculation had claimed that Klopp wanted to replace the Belgian either in January or the summer, with Stoke City's England international Jack Butland said to be a target.
However, the German has insisted that 27-year-old Mignolet is "one of the smartest" keepers that he has ever worked with.
"I'm absolutely satisfied with our goalkeeper situation," Klopp told reporters.
"I'm sorry to kill your stories. We have quality goalkeepers. Simon Mignolet is one of the smartest I've ever had. He's open, completely open. He's young enough to improve and since I'm here there's nothing to criticise."
Mignolet joined the Reds from Sunderland for £9m in June 2013.
