Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Cardiff City

Sports Mole rounds up title-chasing Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with relegation-threatened Cardiff City.

Liverpool travel to relegation-threatened Cardiff City on Sunday looking to continue their charge towards a first top-flight title since 1990.

Fresh from reaching the Champions League semi-finals in emphatic fashion, the Reds go into the weekend leading a thrilling title race by two points - albeit having played a game more than champions Manchester City.

Liverpool still need City to drop points between now and the end of the season while also avoiding any slip-ups of their own, but they will be facing a Cardiff side whose survival hopes were significantly boosted in midweek.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Jurgen Klopp to contend with ahead of another crucial showdown for his side.

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: April 21 (vs. Cardiff)

Adam Lallana has been touch-and-go for Liverpool's last two games without ultimately making it in the end, but the midfielder is expected to be available following a muscle injury this weekend.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: Unknown

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has now been sidelined for almost a full year, with a couple of minor setbacks in his recovery from a knee problem delaying his comeback further. The England international is thought to be over his problems, though, and must now work on building up his match fitness before returning.

Dejan Lovren

Illness kept Dejan Lovren out of Liverpool's midweek trip to Porto, but the defender is expected to be back in time for this weekend after having a few days to recover.

Liverpool have no players suspended for the trip to South Wales.
