Martin Skrtel admits to "difficult schedule" for Liverpool

Martin Skrtel claims that Liverpool's fixture schedule is a "difficult" one to adapt to as they prepare for their third game in six days against Swansea City.

Martin Skrtel has admitted that Liverpool's hectic fixture list is proving a "difficult" one to adapt to.

The Reds meet Swansea City in the League Cup on Tuesday in what will be their third game in six days, and the Slovakian defender has said that the packed schedule is tough to get used to after having no European football on last season's calendar.

He told the club's official website: "It's quite a difficult schedule for us. We played on Wednesday and now we play again on Tuesday.

"We'll try to play the best we can. We've got a Capital One Cup tie and it's a competition we want to win. This is a chance so we have to be ready for that game."

Skrtel was part of the Liverpool side that drew 0-0 with Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.
