Brendan Rodgers hails "exceptional" Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers describes Liverpool's performance away at Tottenham Hotspur as "exceptional" as the Reds win 3-0 at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has praised the performance that his players produced during their 3-0 win away at Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

Raheem Sterling gave the visitors the lead in the eighth minute, before Steven Gerrard and Alberto Moreno made sure of the outcome after the restart.

Speaking after the final whistle, Rodgers told Sky Sports News: "Everything that could be good in our game was there. We played the diamond in the first half and I thought we were a threat in-between the lines in midfield.

"Overall our quality was exceptional, we got three goals and could have had more. We closed the game out very well and all in all it was a good three points."

The match was Rodgers' 100th in charge of the Anfield outfit.
