Brendan Rodgers is reportedly willing to accept Liverpool's new managerial tier structure, which is based on the sporting director system used around Europe.

Brendan Rodgers has reportedly accepted the Liverpool managerial vacancy after agreeing to Fenway Sports Group's new structure of working alongside a collective group.

The Merseyside club's American owners are believed to be attempting to implement a new framework, which is based upon the sporting director system commonly used around Europe.

The Northern Irishman is thought to be taking his assistant manager at Swansea City Colin Pascoe with him to Anfield as well as performance analyst Chris Davies and Glen Driscoll, who is a conditioning expert.

While Rodgers is expected to have a huge say in day-to-day decisions, it is understood that the former Chelsea coach will have to consult a team of directors before making a final decision.

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is believed to have rejected the chance to join Liverpool based on the managerial tier due to be implemented at Anfield.
