Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has insisted that his teammate Roberto Soldado has some of the same qualities that Robbie Fowler possessed.
American Friedel saw Fowler, who scored over 250 goals during his career, up close during his three-year spell at Liverpool that came to an end in the year 2000.
Having had some time to work alongside Spanish international Soldado since his summer arrival at White Hart Lane, Friedel believes that there are some similarities between the two strikers.
"He is an excellent finisher. He has got a technique very similar to Robbie Fowler with the short backlift and he scores for fun in training," he told talkSPORT.
Soldado scored his first goal from open play for Spurs yesterday during their 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
