Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that Joe Allen will get a warm reception when he faces his former club on Wednesday night.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the Swansea City supporters will greet Joe Allen with a warm reception on Wednesday night.

Allen faces Swansea for the first time since he left the club for Anfield in the summer, and Rodgers believes that his former supporters will recognise Allen's achievements for their club.

Rodgers said: "He's a kid that has come through the system there, he gave everything to the club in his time.

"The supporters are probably disappointed that he went but he has actually given them £15m plus a lot more in all his time there."

Allen has made 12 appearances for Liverpool this season.
