Liverpool striker Danny Ings has begun his road to recovery after undergoing a knee operation.
The 24-year-old is expected to be out of action for between seven and nine months after damaging cartilage in his right knee.
It was during the closing stages of the Reds' 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup on October 25 when Ings suffered the problem.
The injury woe occurred around the same time that Ings tried to force his way into Jurgen Klopp's team after spending the majority of last season on the sidelines with a different knee injury.
A statement on Liverpool's official website confirmed on Wednesday that the former Burnley forward has returned to the Melwood training ground to begin rehabilitation.
Ings have made just 11 appearances for the Merseyside outfit since signing for the club on a free transfer in June 2015.
