Report: Daniel Sturridge to miss rest of 2015

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will be ruled out until the end of 2015 with a hamstring injury, according to reports.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is expected to miss several weeks with a fresh hamstring injury picked up in the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United, according to multiple reports.

The England man had only just returned to fitness after a spell on the sidelines and scored twice in the 6-1 thrashing of Southampton in midweek, but felt tightness after coming on as a second-half substitute against the Magpies.

A scan after the match showed a hamstring strain, and according to widespread reports the 26-year-old is expected to miss the entirety of the busy festive period of fixtures during the final few weeks of 2015 and the start of the New Year.

Sturridge has missed 68 Liverpool matches through injury since January 2013 and has featured in just 24 games at club level since the start of the 2014-15 season.

The striker has managed just six appearances in 2015-16, scoring three times.
