Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has reportedly identified Huddersfield Town coach Steve Thompson as a possible assistant manager.
According to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Leeds are close to appointing Redfearn's assistant and Thompson is one of the favourites.
The pair played together at Bolton Wanderers in the 1980s and Redfearn is said to be keen on nabbing the 50-year-old from fellow Yorkshire club Huddersfield, where he is currently a first-team coach.
He joined Town earlier this year as assistant to Mark Robins, but since the latter was sacked and Chris Powell was appointed, Thompson has been made joint first-team coach with Steve Eyre.
