Former Leeds United boss Dave Hockaday joins Coventry City

Coventry City appoint former Leeds United boss Dave Hockaday as their new professional development coach until the end of the season.

Coventry City have appointed former Leeds United head coach Dave Hockaday as professional development coach until the end of the season.

The 57-year-old had been out of work since leaving Elland Road in August after just six games in charge.

Hockaday has previously coached at Watford, MK Dons and Southampton before managing Forest Green and Leeds.

Coventry chief executive Steve Waggott told the club's official website: "This is a pivotal role within the club and we are delighted to have Dave on board.

"Dave's vast amount of experience at Academy and first-team level made him the ideal candidate to take on the position, and he is widely respected within the game as a brilliant coach."

Hockaday will also work alongside manager Steven Pressley and assistant Neil MacFarlane with the first-team at the League One club.
