Result: Ipswich Town 0-1 Crystal Palace

Skipper Patrick McCarthy's effort is enough to give Crystal Palace their third straight away victory at Ipswich.

Crystal Palace picked up their third consecutive away league win this afternoon, ending Ipswich's six-game unbeaten run.

The visitors began the game brighter before the Tractor Boys edged back into the game before half-time, with Julian Speroni keeping Ipswich at bay.

Palace skipper Patrick McCarthy fired into the roof of the net after Sean Scannell's free kick came back to him.

Paul Jewell threw three strikers on for the home side but they were unable to breach Speroni's goal, they also received a late red card when Aaron Cresswell received a second booking.

Dougie Freedman's side rise three placesto third while Ipswich drop to eighth.
