Inter Milan head coach Andrea Stramaccioni has refused to rule out the sale of Maicon in the coming days.
The Nerazzuri allowed Julio Cesar to join Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday and it now appears that Maicon could also leave the San Siro in the near future.
"I will always thank Julio Cesar, as he helped me when I arrived here, but the club choices go beyond affection," Stramaccioni told Football Italia. "I think it's only right that Julio salute the fans.
"As for Maicon, the situation was already clear from the start.
"We won't be caught unprepared, as we have with Javier Zanetti and Jonathan.
"Obviously Maicon has unique characteristics and we'll see what happens up to the transfer window."
Reports on Wednesday suggested that Manchester City are considering a bid for the Brazilian defender.
