Hull City manager Steve Bruce has praised striker Dame N'Doye for taking a pay cut to join the Tigers in January.
The 30-year-old struck twice to seal victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
The win was Hull's first in seven games, and Bruce believes that N'Doye, who has scored five goals in 10 matches, deserves credit for not putting wages as a priority.
"I've never seen anybody take as big a pay cut as what Dame did," the Daily Mail quotes Bruce as saying. "He wanted to play in England.
"Footballers are often criticised for being mercenary but he took a substantial wage cut to come and join us, which I am so pleased he has done and hopefully he'll get it back.
"We'll get the money back to him because if he keeps producing like he did today - he will earn a new contract, either with us or somewhere else."
Hull are one point above relegation in the Premier League, with five games left to play.
