Scottish Championship roundup: Hearts extend league lead to 15 points

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Championship action, as Hearts maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign against Livingston.

Hearts have further extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship courtesy of a 1-0 victory against Livingston at the Almondvale Stadium.

James Keatings missed a first-half penalty for the Maroons, although he made amends soon after to score the only goal of the game to send his side 15 points clear at the summit.

Queen of the South remain in a playoff spot despite being denied all three points in the final 15 minutes against Alloa Athletic.

Derek Lyle had given the visitors a first-half lead, only for Kevin Cawley to cancel out the strike to keep the Wasps' survival hopes alive.

Elsewhere, goals from Colin Nish, Lee Mair and Garry Fleming helped Dumbarton to a 3-1 victory against Cowdenbeath at Central Park.

Craig Sutherland found the net for the Miners' only goal of the contest, yet it was not enough to help his side push away from the relegation zone.

Full results: Alloa Athletic 1-1 Queen of the South, Cowdenbeath 1-3 Dumbarton, Livingston 0-1 Hearts
