Live Commentary: Getafe 1-0 Real Mallorca - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live commentary of tonight's La Liga clash between Getafe and Real Mallorca at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Good evening and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of tonight's La Liga clash between Getafe and Real Mallorca at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Getafe have struggled for form thus far this season and currently occupy 19th spot in the table with just four points from five matches.

Mallorca, meanwhile, sit fourth following an unbeaten start to the campaign – equalling their best-ever start with 11 points after five matches played.

Getafe have managed just a singular win this season, but that victory came at home to Real Madrid and therefore they will be confident of gaining something from the tie.

Please note that kickoff is at 8.30pm.

10.20pmSo there we have it. Getafe secure just their second league win of the season with a 1-0 victory over 10-man Mallorca. Thanks for joining Sports Mole for the action and be sure to join us for Champions League football tomorrow. Until then!

FULL-TIMEGetafe 1-0 Mallorca

90 min+2Chance! What was I saying?! So nearly an equaliser as Nunes finds himself unmarked in the box, but once more he fires wide of the target.

90 min+2Mallorca just cannot keep possession as they lose it in midfield time after time. They have pressed in the past five minutes, but Getafe are ever so comfortable.

90 minWe will play an additional three minutes of time at the end of the half. This one appears to be over.

87 minChance! Oh my word! So nearly an equaliser as Nunes meets a Arizmendi cross, but he fires just wide. What a chance.

85 minChange for the home side as Gavilan replaces Lafita. Meanwhile, they have a free kick in an advanced area.

83 minMallorca appear to have finally woken up as they flood forward. However, Getafe are now the side who threaten on the counter.

81 minRight, 10 minutes of normal time to play. Mallorca appear to be preparing their final change of the evening. Can they rescue a point?

79 minThe Mallorca players ate not happy here as Leon dives in on Aouate. They want a red card for the midfielder. However, the referee brings out a yellow.

77 minPass, pass, pass from Getafe at the moment. Meanwhile, Mallorca continue to defend. It's just a nothing game at the moment.

75 minChance! So nearly number two for the home side as Barrada rounds the goalkeeper, but his effort just drops wide of the post. What an opportunity.

73 minNot a great deal happening at the moment truth be told. Getafe are controlling possession - as expected - but they just cannot find the second.

71 minChange for the away side as Pina is replaced by Marti. Little over 20 minutes of the match remaining.

69 minChance! Glorious chance for Getafe to make it two as Lafita advances on goal, but his effort is pushed away by Aouate.

67 minThe away side have just started to put a few passes together in the past few moments. But still no real goal threat.

65 minAnother half-chance for the home side as Alcacer turns in the box, but his effort is straight at the goalkeeper. You just get the feeling that Mallorca will create a chance on the counter.

63 minGetafe threaten to score their second as Lafita strikes from outside the box, but it was always moving high of the crossbar.

61 minHalf-chance for the away side as Victor heads towards goal, but Moya gets down low to make the save. Meanwhile, the goalkeeper collects the resulting corner.

59 minAnother change for the home side as Vasquez is replaced by Alcacer. Mallorca really need some sort of inspiration here.

58 minChance! So nearly a second for the home side as Vasquez strikes from the middle of the box, but Aouate pushes it over. It's so so one-sided.

56 minHalf-chance for the away side as Victor heads towards goal, but Moya collects the danger. I think that is the first time they have been in the Getafe box this half.

54 minChange for the away side as Arizmedi replaces Hemed. Can he inspire his team in the second period?

52 minThe answer to could Mallorca hang on was no. They need to show some attacking intent as the half wares on. The goal just changes the whole feel of the game.

50 minGetafe have the lead as Castro turns a powerful effort home from close range.

49 minGOAL! Getafe 1-0 Mallorca (Castro)

49 minIt is almost like a training ground exercise at the moment. A simple attack versus defence. Surely Mallorca cannot hold on for another 40 minutes?

48 minHalf-chance for the home side as Torres whips a dangerous cross into the penalty area, but Mallorca manage to clear the danger. This could be a really long half for the away side.

46 minHere we go then. Getafe kick us off in the second period and immediately look for Vasquez inside the Mallorca half.

9.32pmRight, we are a couple of minutes away from the second period. Getafe had 72% of the ball in the first half. However, they managed just one shot on target.

9.20pmJoin us again in around 10 minutes as we build up to the second 45 minutes of action. Let's hope for goals. See you in a mo!

9.17pmSo there we have it. Getafe and Mallorca enter the break level following a fairly uneventful opening period. The away side certainly started the better, but they were reduced to 10 men after 10 minutes when Ximo was dismissed for a dangerous challenge.

HALF-TIMEGetafe 0-0 Mallorca

45 min+1Nothing much to report as the break approaches. Getafe have possession, but Mallorca continue to resist the pressure.

45 minWe will play an additional two minutes of action at the end of the first half.

43 minGetafe boast possession statistics of almost 70% as we approach the break. They have certainly dominated it, but it has been a match of few chances.

41 minStill Getafe flood forward with Lafita and Vasquez, but they just cannot fashion any real chances as we approach the break.

39 minMeanwhile, change for the home side as Pedro Leon replaces Lagen. Nothing much for the crowd to get excited about at the moment.

37 minSighter for the home side as Vasquez turns in the box, but his effort is blocked by Lopez. It has been that kind of match thus far.

35 minNot a great deal happening in terms of chances in the past five minutes or so. The match has developed into a regular pattern of Getafe dominating possession and Mallorca trying to threaten on the break.

33 minBarrada is certainly Getafe's main threat at the moment. However, he has been reduced to a host of long-range efforts in the first half. There is just a sea of red shirts camping in their own box.

31 minThe statistics say that the home side have enjoyed 65% of the possession thus far. However, Mallorca have just begun to ask some questions.

29 minChance! Mallorca respond with a chance of their own as Hemed meets a cross in the box, but Moya pushes it wide. More of an even contest in the past few minutes.

27 minChance! Best chance of the match for the home side as Barrada strikes an effort from outside the box, but Aouate turns the ball wide. Top save.

25 minJust a reminder in case you joined us late. Mallorca began the match the stronger and struck the post early on. But the past 15 minutes has belonged to Getafe following the dismissal of Ximo.

23 minChange for the away side as Pereira is replaced by Nunes. The sending off has just completely changed the feel of this match.

22 minGetafe continue to pass and probe in the Mallorca half as we approach the half-way point of the first period. Lagen is enjoying plenty of possession, but the away side continue to clear the danger.

20 minSighter for Getafe as Lafita heads towards Vasquez in the penalty area, but Aouate gathers possession. Mallorca just need a spell with the ball.

18 minThe home side remain in control of possession with 18 minutes on the clock. However, they have not managed to find a final ball thus far. Their five-man midfield is causing problems.

16 minGetafe continue to pass and probe in attacking areas, but Pina is performing a fine role for Mallorca in midfield. We have just taken another look at the sending off, there really was not a great deal in it.

14 minIt's all Getafe at the moment as they flood forward with Lafita, but Lopez just steps across to clear the danger. The home supporters are in good voice now.

12 minWhat effect will that have on the match? Mallorca had controlled possession in the early stages, but the home side just began to get into this match before the sending off.

10 minRed card! Mallorca are down to 10 men as Ximo is sent off for a challenge on Castro. There did not appear to be a great deal in that.

8 minBarrada takes the effort, but his shot is straight into the wall. Meanwhile, a powerful header from Hemed clears the resulting corner.

7 minFirst real attack of the half from the home side as Vasquez advances into the Mallorca half, but he is chopped down by Victor. Free-kick just outside the box.

5 minChance! So nearly the opener for Mallorca as Hemed strikes a powerful effort from outside the box, but he smashes the post. It's all one-way traffic at the moment.

3 minStrong start from the away side as they flood down the left with Joao in possession, he finds Nsue, but Moya makes a smart save.

1 minHere we go then. Mallorca kick us off and immediately take control of possession.

8.27pmHere we go then. Both sets of players are just emerging from the tunnel on this warm evening in Spain. Let's hope that the football matches the weather!

8.24pmRegular followers will know what time it is now. Prediction time. I just cannot see Mallorca losing this match due to their recent form. I'm going for a 2-1 win to the away side.

8.21pmSubs:

Getafe: Rodriguez, Mane, Martinez, Leon, J Rodriguez, Colunga, Alcaer

Mallorca: Sanchez, Nunes, Bigas, Kevin, Marti, Alfaro, Arizmedi

8.18pmIn terms of the recent record between the two sides, Getafe have won three of the last five encounters, but Mallorca secured a 3-1 victory in the corresponding fixture last term. That said, Getafe secured all three points at Mallorca in December 2011.

8.15pmMeanwhile, Mallorca are unbeaten in their last five games including an impressive win over Valencia at home last weekend. They also secured a point away to Malaga in the early stages of the season and have shown their metal in the new campaign.

8.12pmAs mentioned, both sides have contrasting form entering tonight's match. Getafe have won just one of their last five matches in the league to sit second from bottom in the table.

8.09pmSo there we have it. Getafe hand starts to Abdel and Xavi Torres as part of a five-man midfield. Meanwhile, Tomer Hemed and Victor lead the line for Mallorca.

8.06pmTeams:

Getafe: Moya; Torres, Rafa, Abraham, Valera; Lacen, Castro, Lafita, Abdel, Torres; Alvaro

Mallorca: Aouate; Ximo, Geromel, Conceicao, A.Lopez; Pina, Joao, Pereira, Nsue; Victor, Hemed

8.04pmMeanwhile, quick update from the Premier League match between West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers. The former have just taken the lead with a header from Matt Jarvis.

8.03pmOur focus tonight switches to the encounter between Getafe and Real Mallorca at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. The team news is expected in the next new moments. We will bring it to you when it filters through!

8pmGood evening all! What a weekend of La Liga action it has been. Real Madrid finally appear to be hitting some form ahead of El Clasico next week. Meanwhile, the likes of Malaga and Atletico Madrid continue to impress this season.
