Rene Adler says that it is "sensational" to be back playing for Germany ahead of the friendly with France on Wednesday.

Former Germany number one Rene Adler has admitted that is it "sensational" to be back in the squad after a long absence.

Adler has not played for Germany since November 2010 but will start for them on Wednesday night against France, although coach Joachim Low has said that Manuel Neuer will return for the two Kazakhstan games in March.

"I think our roles are pretty clear," Bundesliga.com quotes Adler as saying.

"Just to be back among Germany's best players is a sensational experience because I know how quickly things can change."

The 28-year-old has played 10 times for Germany.
