How Germany could line up against Belarus

Sports Mole looks at how Germany could line up in Saturday's Euro 2020 qualifier against Belarus.

Germany will go in search of their second victory in Group C when they face Belarus in their second Euro 2020 qualification fixture on Saturday night.

Joachim Low's side recorded a 3-2 win over the Netherlands in their first match and will now be looking to make it six points from a possible six.

Die Mannschaft have been present in the semi-finals in each of the last two European Championships but have not actually lifted the trophy since Euro 1996.

The visitors will be the overwhelming favourites to triumph on Saturday night. However, the only other previous meeting between Belarus and Germany ended in a 2-2 draw back in 2008.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Germany could line up this weekend.

POSS GER XI vs. BEL

Germany are expected to keep the 3-4-3 formation that served them well against the Netherlands. However, one of the back three from that match - Antonio Rudiger - is unavailable, which could mean a start for Jonathan Tah alongside Matthias Ginter and Niklas Sule.

Further forward, Thilo Kehrer and Nico Schulz could again operate in the wing-back positions either side of Joshua Kimmich and Ilkay Gundogan, with the latter potentially coming in for the injured Toni Kroos.

Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane were both on the scoresheet against the Netherlands and should start, while Marco Reus could get the nod in the false nine role over Timo Werner and Leon Goretzka.

That said, Julian Draxler and Julian Brandt are also two players capable of filling that role.

Bayer Leverkusen's talented midfielder Kai Havertz will be looking to win just his fourth cap, while Niklas Stark and Sven Ulreich are the two uncapped players in the squad.
