Genoa and Slovakia midfielder Juraj Kucka could be out of action for six months.

Kucka limped off during his side's 2-1 defeat at Cagliari on Sunday and subsequent medical tests have revealed that the 26-year-old suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage.

Genoa have confirmed that Kucka will be visited later today by specialist doctor Pierpaolo Mariani, who will arrange a date for surgery on the player's knee.

Kucka, who was linked with a move to Liverpool earlier this year, has scored two goals in 11 Serie A appearances this season.
