Rodney Marsh: 'Fulham will sack Felix Magath'

Former Fulham striker Rodney Marsh believes that the club will sack manager Felix Magath following their relegation from the Premier League.

Former Fulham striker Rodney Marsh has claimed that the club will sack manager Felix Magath following their relegation from the Premier League.

Despite taking 11 points from his 11 games in charge of the Cottagers, the German saw his side drop down to the Championship on Saturday with a 4-1 defeat at Stoke City.

Marsh now wants to see the club coached by someone who is familiar with the rocky terrain of English football's second tier as the team looks to bounce back to the top flight.

"I know Magath is a top, top coach in other countries but for him to go into the Championship and try to look at players, systems and the way other teams play, it's definitely not on," the 69-year-old told talkSPORT. "I believe Fulham will sack him and bring in a specialist.

"They need to get someone who is an expert in getting teams promoted from the Championship. If you look at all the teams in that division who are doing well, 95% of them are managed by British managers who have had expertise in the lower leagues."

Fulham finish their season on Sunday when they entertain Crystal Palace.
