Fulham keeper David Stockdale has admitted that his side deserved to be relegated from the Premier League this season.
The Cottagers' drop to the Championship was confirmed as they fell to a 4-1 defeat to Stoke City and Sunderland beat Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Stockdale told the club's official website: "It's hard to put anything into words, it's a disappointing time. We didn't deserve anything from the game, we were hoping for luck from other teams after we started like that.
"We didn't get it. We didn't deserve it. We'll try and bounce back next year, there are a lot of players that believe in the club and want the club to be back where it belongs."
Felix Magath's side's relegation ends their 13-year stay in the Premier League after they were promoted in 2001.
