Martin Jol gets Fulham owner Shahid Khan's backing

Shahid Khan has no plans to sack Martin Jol despite Fulham's indifferent start to the season.

Fulham owner Shahid Khan has issued his support to under-fire manager Martin Jol in the wake of recent unrest among the supporters.

The Cottagers sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference, which has led to some fans calling for his sacking.

While Khan admits that he is unhappy with the club's start to the Premier League campaign, he insists that he has no plans to fire Jol.

"Martin is a very experienced coach," Khan told the Daily Mail. "He's a good guy. We've gotten off to a start nobody's happy with, whether you're a fan or you're Martin.

"We want to do better but I'm not the kind of person who's going to act on impulse.

"You go through life and learn valuable lessons. I want Fulham to be very successful. You can't go out of the frying pan and into the fire. That's the most important thing."

Fulham travel to Crystal Palace on Monday.
