At least 18 dead amid shootings in Paris during France, Germany friendly

At least 18 people have died in shootings in Paris during France's friendly match against Germany at the Stade de France.

At least 18 people have been killed in Paris as France's international friendly match against Germany was played out at the Stade de France.

Two police officers have told The AP that 26 people have died, while the deputy mayor of Paris puts the number of fatalities at 18.

The police have suggested that 11 people have been killed at the Petit Cambodge restaurant in the centre of Paris, with 15 killed at the Bataclan theatre.

No-one is believed to have been killed at the Stade de France.

Several shootings have taken place throughout Paris while two explosions were heard outside the Stade de France during the match.

Three explosions have also been reported at a bar near the stadium.

The attackers have fled the scene.

Police have also confirmed that a hostage situation is ongoing at the Bataclan theatre, with around 60 people believed to be inside.

No-one is currently allowed to leave or enter the Stade de France, with police confirming that two explosions outside the stadium during the first half of the match were grenades. The explosions were heard throughout the stadium and the match, which France won 2-0, continued.

Supporters of both teams have been allowed onto the Stade de France pitch after the final whistle.

French president Francois Hollande had previously been evacuated from the stadium during the match.

British prime minister David Cameron offered his support to the French people:

The attacks follow news that the Germany team were evacuated from their team hotel earlier on Friday due to a bomb scare.
