Report: Everton to approach Aiden McGeady

Everton will offer Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady a pre-contract in January, according to reports.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is reportedly keen on securing a pre-contract for Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady in January.

The Republic of Ireland international's deal runs out in the summer, meaning that he is available to speak to interested parties when the winter transfer window opens.

According to The Express, Martinez tried to sign the 27-year-old last year while manager of Wigan Athletic and remains interested in luring him to Goodison Park.

McGeady has already signalled his intention to run down his contract with the Russian club, whom he joined from Celtic for £9.5m in 2010.
