Roberto Martinez: 'Howard one of the best in Premier League'

Everton boss Roberto Martinez hails Tim Howard as one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers after his side's 1-1 draw with Swansea City.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has hailed Tim Howard as one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers after his side's 1-1 draw with Swansea City on Saturday.

The American keeper has seen his form questioned this season, but he has turned in a number of impressive displays of late to help the Toffees on a four-game unbeaten streak, including denying Bafetimbi Gomis with an excellent stop in the first half at the Liberty Stadium.

Martinez told BT Sport: "The goalkeeper gets really tested in certain moments and that action [to save from Gomis] was him, and that's him at his very best.

"He had two good moments against Southampton [last week] and at that level, he's one of the best in the Premier League.

"It's great to see him hitting that level of form. Remember that the World Cup has a little bit of an affect when you go into the next season. It's great to see Tim Howard at his best on the pitch."

Martinez also admitted that the draw in Wales "felt like a defeat".
