Everton boss Ronald Koeman has claimed that his side did not deserve to lose Monday night's Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
The Premier League clash at Goodison Park was scoreless until deep into injury time, when Sadio Mane's strike gave the Reds a 1-0 win.
Koeman told Sky Sports News after the game: "I think it was a very good team performance. It was the best first 45 minutes. We were very aggressive. There was a big chance with the header from a corner kick.
"In the second half we had it more difficult. The substitutes of Liverpool had a big impact in the final result. We didn't keep the ball after the break so much, but we didn't deserve to lose the game.
"If you get the goal then that gives a boost. The eight minutes of extra time even made it more difficult."
The result sees Everton slip to ninth in the Premier League table.
