Christian Atsu: 'I want to prove myself in the Premier League'

Christian Atsu vows to prove that he is capable of performing on the Premier League stage after joining Everton on loan from Chelsea.

Everton's new signing Christian Atsu has insisted that he wants to prove he is capable of playing at the highest level in the Premier League.

The Ghana international finalised a season-long loan deal with the Merseyside outfit yesterday.

The 22-year-old joined Chelsea from Porto last summer, but spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem before moving to Goodison Park for a temporary stint.

"It is a really good move for me because they play good football and are a hard-working team," Atsu told reporters in this morning's press conference. "They also have a great coach with fantastic fans.

"This is my first season in the Premier League and it is a really high level or me. It is a big opportunity to prove myself."

Manager Roberto Martinez also claimed today that he is not considering a permanent stay for the winger.
