Brian Sorensen led Everton to a respectable sixth-placed finish last term, but he experienced a difficult start to his second season as Everton boss.
The campaign began with consecutive WSL defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City, before they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City in their opening group match of the League Cup.
After making a slow start to the campaign, Everton chose the opportune moment to claim their first win of the season in last weekend's Merseyside derby.
Megan Finnigan's first-half effort proved decisive, as the Toffees held firm to clinch a narrow 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
Everton will now look to follow up their derby success with another win on Sunday, but claiming all three points could prove difficult after failing to win any of their last five competitive meetings with the Red Devils (D1, L4).

Man United will have to pick themselves up from a disappointing trip to the French capital, where their first-ever Women's Champions League appearance came to a premature end.
After playing out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their qualifying tie with Paris Saint-Germain, the Red Devils fell behind in the 17th minute of Wednesday's return leg.
They managed to pull a goal back inside the opening two minutes of the second period, but PSG immediately retook the lead before adding a third to condemn Man United to a 3-1 defeat on the night.
The Red Devils will be left to focus on domestic matters for the rest of the campaign, and they will be determined to return to winning ways after drawing their last two league matches with Arsenal and Leicester.
Having seen his side concede in each of their five competitive matches, Marc Skinner will challenge his team to record their first clean sheet of the season.

Kirk has confirmed that Everton are unable to call upon Lucy Hope, who could be out for six to eight weeks with an ankle injury.
Elise Stenevik and Sara Holmgaard remain sidelined for the hosts, but Martina Piemonte may recover in time to feature in the matchday squad.
After playing the final 35 minutes of the Merseyside derby, Katja Snoeijs could come into the side to make her first start to the season.
As for the visitors, Gabby George is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City last weekend.
Long-term absentee Emma Watson is also ruled out with an ACL injury, while defender Aoife Mannion remains unavailable due to a quad issue.
After dropping down to the bench in midweek, Hayley Ladd and Lucia Garcia could both return to the starting lineup for Sunday's away trip.
Everton Ladies possible starting lineup:
Brosnan; Bjorn, Finnigan, Veje; Payne, Vanhaevermaet, Galli, Bissell; Bennison, Snoeijs, Sorensen
Manchester United Women possible starting lineup:
Earps; Riviere, Le Tissier, Turner, Blundell; Ladd, Zelem; Geyse, Toone, Galton; Garcia
We say: Everton Ladies 1-2 Manchester United Women
Despite falling to defeat in the French capital on Wednesday, we think that Man United have the extra quality required to claim all three points in Sunday's away meeting with Everton.
