Eintracht Frankfurt take full of advantage of Josue's early dismissal to run out 2-0 winners at Wolfsburg and move up to third place in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt secured a comfortable away win over 10-man Wolfsburg to move clear in third place above Borussia Dortmund this afternoon.

Alexander Meier broke the deadlock after 12 minutes to put the visitors ahead after finishing off an incisive Frankfurt break.

Wolfsburg, who went into the match on the back of a morale-boosting win over Dortmund, had a man sent off less than 20 minutes into the match.

Brazilian midfielder Josue was given a red card for kicking out at Olivier Occean to put the home side a man down with 70 minutes still to play.

Frankfurt immediately capitalised to double their advantage through Takashi Inui.

The home side tried to respond and had efforts on goal from Diego and Jan Polak, but they failed to reduce the deficit.

Armin Veh's side stayed strong in the closing stages, reducing Wolfsburg to strikes from distance to claim three crucial points.
