Ten-man Dallas denied victory by Nick LaBrocca strike for Colorado Rapids

Nick LaBrocca finds the net 11 minutes from time to earn the Colorado Rapids a point in their MLS clash against FC Dallas.

Ten-man Dallas were denied victory against the Colorado Rapids as a goal from Nick LaBrocca earned Pablo Mastroeni's side a point at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The home side could have taken the lead in the early stages of the match when LaBrocca found space on the edge of the box, but his shot clattered off the post.

Colorado threatened again when a corner was lifted into the box by Dillon Powers, but Axel Sjoberg's headed effort went narrowly wide of the target.

The Rapids continued to exert pressure when Dominique Badji managed to raid to the byline and lift a cross into the box for Juan Ramirez, but the midfielder was unable to turn the ball into the net.

Despite the home side's dominance, Dallas took the lead when Fabian Castillo forced a cross into the box and Mauro Diaz reacted to the ball to guide it past Clint Irwin into the bottom corner.

In the second half the game turned when Blas Perez was sent off for an off-the-ball incident after clashing with Drew Moor.

The home side upped the pressure on the Dallas goal, and Gabriel Torres went close with a strike from outside the box, but his effort was deflected over the bar.

Colorado got their equaliser in the 79th minute when Powers lifted a cross into the box for LaBrocca to power a header past Kennedy as the two players clashed for the ball.

Both teams pushed for a winner late in the game as Tesho Akindele raided forward with a 60-yard run but his strike hit the side-netting, while at the other end of the pitch Lucas Pittinari fired his shot over the bar as the sides settled for a point apiece.
